Who We Are

Welcome to Green Assessments

Hello, I’m Toby Castle, the owner and qualified Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Inspector behind Green Assessments. When you contact Green Assessments, you deal directly with me — no call centres or middlemen.

If you’re selling, renting, or managing a property, I can provide a fast, professional, and affordable EPC service. Every assessment is carried out thoroughly, and once complete, your EPC is securely lodged on the official government register — where it can be downloaded anytime.

I primarily cover Chippenham (Wiltshire)  and the surrounding towns and villages, offering reliable residential EPCs for homeowners, landlords, and agents alike.

An EPC is required whenever a property is bought, sold, or rented. It shows how energy efficient your home is and includes recommendations for improving performance — helping you lower energy bills and reduce carbon emissions.

With my experience and a commitment to quality, I take pride in offering a personal service and expert advice. No job is too big or too small — I’m always happy to help.

Notes

  • All EPCs are all valid for 10 years from the date it is lodged and can be reused as many times as required.

  • Landlords / home owners should organise and pay for the EPC, it is not the responsibility of the new tenant or new owner to organise or pay.

  • The regulations require an EPC to be commissioned, if there is no valid EPC for that building, before a building is put on the market.

  • EPC Assessors must be fully insured.

  • Before marketing a building for sale or rent a person acting on behalf of the seller or landlord must be satisfied that an EPC has been commissioned for that building.

  • An Energy Performance Certificate must be produced by an accredited energy assessor.

  • All advertisements in commercial media must clearly show the energy rating of the building.

  • The regulations require an EPC to be given free of charge to the person who becomes the buyer or tenant of the building.

  • An EPC shows the energy efficiency rating on an A–G rating scale for a building, A being the most efficient and G being the least efficient.

  • EPCs are lodged with the government's register see downloads below for a link to the register.
